We celebrate Happy Thanksgiving on the last Thursday of November. But once the day arrives, everyone starts planning, buying and preparing for Christmas. Last Christmas, I had prepared a beautiful Wreath and a pair of Waffle Look Beanie for an adult and 2 children. This year had to be different, so I decided to make a bunch of Santa/Christmas theme beanies and hats for my family and get creative and decorative as well. I have always believed in giving a personal touch to my gifts and have preferred presenting handmade articles than a purchased factory-made product. So here was my gift filled with love, vision, and excitement.
Following my usual practice, I sat down searching for the hats for gifting. The requirement is to make one for each of the family members based on their age. Going by the Christmas theme, the base colours were ought to be in Red and White. I played around with patterns making the Ear-Flap beanie for the kids, a slouchy beanie and of course a Santa hat for the adults.
What followed with every product was its packaging. And I must admit, it was one of the very innovative and interesting projects, I picked up lately. These eco-friendly paper bags took me back to my childhood days, to my Arts and Crafts classes. In order to tag these packets, I drew sketches on each of them giving them both a decorative look and an identification mark.
So here we go. What you see in this is just the prelude. There are much more products in the making and following this, every weekend till the Christmas Day, I’ll share the items for my family and a part of Christmas tradition.
Isn’t it fun? Well, join me to make and learn as well!
Christmas Gift for the family!
