Crochet Circular Patched Floormat Free Pattern for Home Decor - Knot My Designs

Circular Patched Floormat

Circles are one of the basic forms that we learn about; a shape that has no beginning or end. But as we grow we seek various inspiration and build our interpretations from it. Some look at it as infinity, completeness, while others might see it as a zero, nothingness.

With so many interpretations, this shape definitely plays a great role in defining our home. My inspiration was to create a conventional model of linked celestial objects and we are at the top of it.

Process:

The mat includes 3 sizes of motifs; Small, Medium, and Large. The count is 6 small, 6 medium and a single large motif altogether. These motifs are going to place on the floor to create the design and then they are sewn one by one.

The centre of the mat will be the large hexagonal motif. Align the 6 medium motifs around each side of the large motifs. Align the 1 small motif on each side of the medium motifs. Start sewing the sides of the large motif with a medium motif each. Place them on the floor after each stitch to make sure the distance between them is equal. Repeat the process for joining small motifs to the medium ones.

Small:-

R1: using 2 strands of same yarn, make a magic circle and 6 Single Crochet (SC).

R2 – R4: increase by 6 SC in every row and make sure the pattern does not take hexagonal shape. It should form a circular shape.

Make 6 such small motifs.

Medium:-

R1: using 2 strands of same yarn, make a magic circle and 6 Single Crochet (SC).

R2 – R6: increase by 6 SC in every row and make sure the pattern does not take hexagonal shape. It should form a circular shape.

Make 6 such medium motifs.

Large:-

R1: using 1 strand of both yarn each, make a magic circle and 6 Single Crochet (SC).

R2 – R10: increase by 6 SC in every row and make sure the pattern should form a hexagonal shape.

Make only 1 large motif for the centre.

Remember to add a layer of non-slippery rubber spray or shelf liner at the back of the floor mat.
